NOREPOS meeting in Trondheim, 26-27 March 2019

NOREPOS researchers and guests met for two days in Trondheim to discuss current and future research. The workshop covered various topics including pharmacoepidemiology, developmental origins and early risks of osteoporosis, immune function and fracture risk, influence of climate and air pollution on fracture risk, dissemination and the user perspective. Professor Martin O’Flaherty, our collaborator in the University of Liverpool, UK, participated in the workshop and gave an overview of the IMPACT model.

Workshop 2014

The NOREPOS workshop in 2014 was held 18-19 June in Solstrand Hotel & Bad, Os, about 30 minutes south of Bergen and Bergen Airport Flesland. Thirty participants were gathered for two days of presentations and discussions.

We were joined by two prominent Swedish osteoporosis researchers: Prof. Karl Michaëlsson from Uppsala University and Prof. Claes Ohlsson from the Sahlgrenska Academy in Gothenburg.

Workshop 2013

The 8th annual NOREPOS workshop was held 26-27 August 2013 in Malangen Brygger in Balsfjord, approximately one hour drive from Langnes Airport in Tromsø. 28 participants interested in topics surrounding clinical and epidemiologic research in osteoporosis and fractures joined the meeting.

We were joined by Prof. Bo Abrahamsen and Prof. Peter Vestergaard, two prominent Danish osteoporosis researchers.

The two days of program included:
– Presentations from guest speakers
– Presentation of ongoing research projects in the Tromsø group
– Presentation of results from ongoing research projects in NOREPOS
– Working group discussions and plenary discussion of possible future directions

The 7th annual NOREPOS workshop was carried out in Hurdalsjøen in Akershus, 20-21 September 2012.
28 participants gathered to discuss epidemiologic research on osteoporosis. Our special guest speaker this year was Professor Karl Michaëlsson from Uppsala University.
